i am getting a new SLR digital camera and a housing when i can afford it. but still deciding what camera to get, thinking canon350D but i don't think they have a self cleaning system which is very important cos little dirt or sand can screw them. plus pretty costly to get them clean. like 200 bucks every 6months or somthing.

Hi,

About a year ago my son Antony bought a digital camera with underwater housing. Since that time he has dramatically changed his diving. He is taking a lot of pictures and lots of video footage. He is having a ball. I will post some from time to time.

The attached pic is of Antony ascending after a 40m dive to a wreck off Sydney. Courtesy of the Sydney Project Dive Team: http://www.sydneyproject.com/image_gallery/gallery.asp?gid=10

Thanks Judge, that's an excellent picture.

Is there any more info on this project? Looks very interesting.

Cheers,
Ben

Yeah, there are some great shots on this project, some good shots of Sasha Dench around the wreck. She did some variable ballast dives and the guys from the Sydney Project were down there on scuba to photograph the action.

Follow the link above and it should put you onto the pics.

Here is a pic Ant took for our club species manual.

Hey Guys,

Thought you might like to see some of my pics. Two of me during the Andaman Challenge  in Thailand & the other are with my freediving buddies in Egypt. Wink
