World Freediving Cup - Sardinia 1998
World team championship with over 20 countries taking place. It was the first
time Australia had put a team into a freediving championship. The team comprised
of many of the top Spearfishermen in the country including Ian Puckeridge,Greg
Pickering, Adam Smith and Pete Watman. Teams comprised of 5 divers the placings
determined by adding up both depth dive and static performances of each of the
5 divers. (example - 5min static = 50 points + 40m dive = 40 points, total =
90). Competition was run under AIDA rules. The depth limit for this competition
was 60m.
